Their live shows are known for intense sonic landscapes, explosive rock energy and high-level nuanced chamber ensemble playing. The groups open-mindedness and willingness to experiment has led to a unique sound offering a directness and accessibility that belies its complex nature.
They Will Flock’s debut release ‘The Game’ draws upon the diverse playing experiences of each member including contemporary jazz, Jewish dance music, Indian weddings, Swedish folk music and West African drum circles resulting in highly wrought compositions that are balanced with adventurous no-holds-barred improvising.

The Academy welcomes legendary vocalist and songwriter Hamish Stuart to perform with the Academy Big Band in a celebration of the music of Steely Dan. Commemorating 40 years of their seminal album, Aja, plus other classics, we are proud to invite award-winning composer/arranger and jazz alumnus Reuben Fowler to lead the band in his new arrangements of the music of Steely Dan’s composers, Donald Fagen and the late Walter Becker.
The concert also features special guest soloists Gareth Lockrane, Tom Walsh and Paul Booth.
